Southerners survey damage after floods

-09.22.09- On a Tuesday finally filled with welcome sunshine, flood-ravaged Georgians returned home to survey the damage and begin wrestling with insurance issues. For some, homecoming was heartbreaking. Widespread flooding that killed at least 10 people in Georgia and Alabama left hundreds of homes inundated, thousands without power and millions of commuters flummoxed as closed roads and washed-out bridges created major traffic jams across the Atlanta region.
