Officials in California say they may be close to gaining the upper hand on a wildfire that has burned across more than 28 square miles over the past three days.

The Silver Fire was at 19,000 acres and 70 percent containment Saturday evening, according to an incident report from the Riverside County Fire Department.

Since starting on Wednesday afternoon, the blaze has injured six firefighters and one civilian, and destroyed about four dozen structures, according to the report.
