Canada’s wheat crop woes

-06.25.10- The Canadian Wheat Board is estimating total wheat production in Canada of 18.9 million tonnes, well down from the US Department of Agriculture’s latest crop estimate of 24.5 million tonnes. CWB weather and market analysis director Bruce Burnett said 3.3 to 5 million hectares of cropland in the prairie provinces remained unseeded at a time when sowing of the spring crop would be completed.
